Boredom Bottle Ideas
How many times have you heard the words "I'm bored" come out of your child's mouth. This often will make a parent crazy especially if your child is surrounded by many things to keep them amused. Well rest assured help is here. Have your kids make a boredom bottle so when this topic arises you can magically pull out the bottle and have them select something fun to do.
Materials needed:
Wide mouth plastic bottle rinsed out, dried with labels removed.
Collection of stickers.
Large, blank mailing label to use for the bottle title.
Markers, colored pens or pencils.
4 x 4 inch squares of colored paper.
Colorful curly ribbon
Step one:
Have the kids decorate the mailing label and include the title : "Boredom Bottle"
Attach the label to the center of the bottle and then decorate the bottle.
Add a ribbon around the neck of the bottle for decoration.
Step two:
Together with your kids make a list of activities, games, challenges, and crafts that need little or no explanation. Write one item on each square of paper. Fold the paper squares and drop them into the bottle. Be sure to add some unexpected activities to the bottle when the kids are not looking. It will be great to surprise them.
Step three:
When you hear the words "I'm bored" pull out the bottle and have them shake out an idea!!
Step four:
Be sure to replenish the bottle.
