Walk for A Great Cause - Walk for the Children!
The Andréa Rizzo Foundation was established in memory of Andréa Rizzo, a beautiful young graduate of Salve Regina University, who survived childhood cancer and was tragically killed at the age of 24 by a drunk driver. Her dream was to become a dance therapist and give children with cancer and disabilities the gift of dance.

The Andréa Rizzo Foundation’s 9th Annual WALK FOR THE CHILDREN “Cliff Walk-a-thon” along the beautiful Newport Cliff Walk will benefit children with cancer and special needs at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and local public schools. The event will start and finish at Rodgers Recreation Center at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.
This 2 mile scenic walk-a-thon along Narragansett Bay is a FREE FAMILY EVENT featuring door prizes, raffles, KIDS’ fun booth, FREE refreshments and entertaining dance performances by local dance companies. Fun for the whole family! You can even form a team of walkers to walk in support of your favorite charity or organization or in memory/support of a loved one. Banners will be provided to teams of 10 or more who email us their TEAM NAME by August 10th! This year, join us as we Pledge, Pledge, Pledge for children with cancer or special needs.
