The Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour

The 9th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 4:30 to 9:00 pm at Ballard Park. The evening tour features a display of over 1,000 jack-o-lanterns carved by local community groups and the general public.

In addition to the nonprofit organizations, members of the public are invited to participate by purchasing their own display area. Display areas are $75 and should include at least 20 pumpkins. In past years families as well as businesses have carved pumpkins for display.
The 9th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin tour is a free event and open to the public. It will be held rain or shine. Ballard Park is located at the intersection of Hazard & Wickham Roads in Newport. Parking is available in the Rogers High School lot on Wickham Road.

Frerichs Farm is known for its giant pumpkins! We’ve made national news! Who would have thought that Warren, the smallest town in the smallest state, would be known for something so large? Since 2000 Frerichs Farm has hosted the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Annual Weigh-off on Columbus Day Weekend. This year, more than 3,500 people from all corners of New England and New York come to see the pumpkins and enjoy the festivities.

18th Annual International Oktoberfest, Newport

Cluny School Country Fair - Sunday September 25, 2011
Fun for the entire family! The Annual Cluny Country Fair takes place 10am - 4pm on the beautiful school grounds. Featuring. Carnival games with prizes and hay rides for children of all ages, craft vendors, baked goods, silent auction & raffles. Gently used toys, books and athletic equipment. Halloween Activities at the Newport Public Library
Wednesday October 19, Halloween Magic - 3:30 PM
Magician Bruce Kalver will present a show of haunting Halloween magic for children ages 4 and up.  Prepare to be amazed and amused by spooky specters, creepy card tricks, appalling appearances and devilish disappearances.  This magician is sure to scare up a good time for all.  No registration is required for this free program held in the lower level program room.  
  
Saturday Oct. 22 Haunted Halloween Craft Party
2:30 PM  -  4:30 PM    
Children ages 6 and up are invited to dress in costumes and make a variety of spooky crafts.  Held in the John Clarke Children's Program Room.  Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, October 4th.  To register contact the Children's Department.  All materials are provided for this free program.  Light refreshments will be served.
Monday October 31, Trick or Treat @ the Library
9:30 AM - 5:45 PM
Children are invited to stop by the Children's Desk for a free Halloween treat. One treat per child while supplies last.

1:00 - 4:00 Come dressed as a character and receive $1.00 off admission. Get sorted as you enter phase one. While lost in the maze, stop at Hog's Head for a drink or some Bertie Bott Beans. Visit Professor Snape's laboratory and assist in some experiments. Exchange your muggles money at Gringotts so you can visit Ollivander's Wand Shop and make a wand suitable to you. Enter our A-MAIZing Wizard Tournament. Test your knowledge and take one of Dumbledore's exams. It will be a grand day for all Harry Potter fans.
 
A-MAZING HALLOWEEN PARTY!

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Everyone is invited to this old-fashioned Halloween costume party for the entire family! Fun and games, plus trick-or-treat in the corn maze. Come in costume and receive $1.00 off admission.   A spooktacular time!!!!


Young Family Farm Apple Festival

Halloween Fun at the Portsmouth Free Public Library

6th Annual Halloween Celebration - date and time TBD
Come in your costume to hear stories, sing spooky songs, and play games!  Best of all it's in the warm indoors!   For children ages 2 through 5 years old.  Registration is required; you may sign up by calling the Portsmouth Free Public Library children's room at 683.9457.  This program is free and open to the public.
