Friday night fireworks in December

During the Christmas season, Edaville is transformed into a colorful winter wonderland, as over seven million colored lights decorate the 1,800-arce cranberry plantation. The Christmas Train passes by more than 30 seasonal displays, while passengers relax comfortably in our warm and dry heated passenger coaches. Families can come enjoy hot chocolate, apple cider, Christmas lights, and a visit with Santa!

Festive Christmas Celebrations at the Newport Mansions
November 20 through January 3
The Breakers opens daily at 9 a.m., The Elms and Marble House open at 10 a.m.   The last tour admission at all three houses is at 4 p.m., and the houses & grounds close at 5 p.m.

Please note, on Christmas Eve, December 24, the last tour admission at all 3 houses will be at
3 p.m.  Houses are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Come and enjoy the spirit of Christmas at the Newport Mansions!   Experience magnificent Yuletide decorations, set against a backdrop of inspirational and historic architecture, the glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver.   You'll see spectacular evergreens, trees, thousands of poinsettia plants, fresh flowers and wreaths, dining tables set with period silver and china, and mannequins dressed in authentic costumes.

We invite you to make holiday memories with your family by visiting The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House, all decked out for the holidays.   

See all three houses and save.  Winter Passport ticket (daytime admission to all three) is $28 for adults, $9 for children 6-17.

Daily beginning December 7th, 8 a.m.-9 p.m., open daily at The Newport Marriott Hotel for public viewing and picture taking, 25 America’s Cup Ave. Free with non-perishable canned good donation for charity. 849-1000


Christmas at Blithewold
November 27, 2009 through January 3, 2010
Sunday through Wednesday, 10 am – 5 pm and Thursday though Saturday, 1 – 8 pm.
Blithewold will close at 4 pm on Tuesday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 2 for private parties. Children's story hour will be held at 3 pm on December 2.

The Mansion will close to the public at 2 pm on December 7, 14, 21 for special events.

Adults $10, Seniors $8, Children 6 - 17 $2, Members and Children 5 and under FREE.

Fairy Tales and Fantasies await visitors to Blithewold this Christmas season.
Entering the mansion, guests will encounter the magnificent 18 foot “tree of fantasy” soaring to the ceiling and twinkling with thousands of lights. Decorations on the Christmas tree reflect the various individual fairy tale and fantasy themes used by the decorators in each of the mansion’s rooms.

Tiverton 4 Corners Holiday Open House
Saturday December 5 (10 AM - 5 PM) & Sunday December 6 (Noon - 5 PM)

Please join us for our Holiday Open House where various shops and galleries will host tastings, art openings and children’s activities. During this year’s open house merchants will be hosting a “Home for the Holidays” food drive to benefit the East Bay Community Action Program's Tiverton food pantry. Please bring a non-perishable baking item or side dish for a donation. Items such as gingerbread cookie mixes, sugar cookie mixes, bread mixes, stuffing, dry potatoes etc.
For the Holiday Open House there will be story telling for children at Little Purls children's clothing store on Saturday 10:30am. Other free events for children include a "drop-in" kid's activity at Roseberry-Winn Pottery; "Make Your Own Ornament" at The Tiverton Four Corners Art Center for children ages 6-12. Carolers and a bagpiper will enliven the village on Saturday. We welcome all to tour the village and enjoy cheese tastings and hot cider at Milk & Honey Bazaar, cookies and cocoa at the Provender.
