Pack a bag and visit one of the many diverse beaches Aquidneck Island has to offer!


           

Kids Beach

 
First Beach (Easton's Beach)
Memorial Boulevard, Newport - Public Beach
www.cityofnewport.com/departments/economicdevelopment/beach/home.cfm The beach runs from the beginning of the Cliff Walk to the Middletown border.  The Cliff Walk end of First Beach allows surfers.  Amenities include concession stand, playground, skate park, restrooms, showers, and storage lockers for seasonal rental.  Summer activities include free concerts, family nights, annual carnival, beach volleyball leagues and tournaments  Relax and play on the beach, take a ride on the carousel and  visit the Save the Bay Exploration Center and Aquarium.

Weekday $10.00  Weekend/Holiday  $15  Early/Late Day before10:00  after 2:30 - $10.00  
Season Passes:  Resident - $30.00, Sr.$20.00 Non resident - $60.00 & Sr. $35.00
Short Term Parking - 90 minute parking for carousel and aquarium Available at Gate 2.   It is free weekdays and $2.00 weekends.  Need to pay in full and will be refunded when you leave.  
 
2nd Beach  (Sachueset Beach)
Purgatory Road, Middletown - Public Beach
Grab you kids and the boogie boards and head to second beach you are sure to see someone you know.  The beach has great waves and is perfect for walking.   There is a concession stand, showers, and restrooms.
Parking is $10 weekdays, $20 week ends and holidays.
Season passes available discounts for Middletown residents/Seniors 
 
Surfer's End (2nd Beach)
The beginning of the 2nd beach used mostly by surfers.  
 
Third Beach
Purgatory Road, Middletown - Public Beach
Third Beach is just beyond Second Beach.  It is more sheltered with less waves.  Great for small children.  There are a few picnic areas with bbq grills.  Pack a picnic since there are no concession stands or restrooms.  You can walk to Peabody's Beach for concessions.
Parking is $10 weekdays, $20 week ends and holidays.
Season passes:  FREE to Middletown residents. 
  
Peabody's Beach
Purgatory Road, Middletown - Private (open to public)
The far end of Third Beach has been independently operated by the Peabody family since 1901.
A great family beach protected by the land so there are little or no waves.  Great for little ones.  Has a snack bar, restrooms and showers.  Season passes and bathhouse rental available.  Call 846-2287
Public Day Passes and Weekly Passes also available. 

Gooseberry Beach
Ocean Drive, Newport - Private (open to public)

Gooseberry has a concession stand and a small parking lot. Chair rentals, changing rooms, and shower facilities available.
Parking Monday thru Friday: $15 per day, Weekends and Holidays: $20 per day.
 
Sandy Point Beach
Sandy Point Ave, Portsmouth - Public Beach
If you live in Portsmouth pack a picnic and spend the day, you kids are sure to see someone they know.  There are bathrooms and a small picnic area, but no concession stand.
Parking $7 weekdays, $12 weekends and holidays. Season passes are available,
FREE to Portsmouth residents. Non resident $50

Island Park Beach
Park Ave, Portsmouth - Public Beach
Small Beach across from Flo's Clam Shack.  No restrooms.  No Lifeguards.  Free.

Teddy's Beach
Park Ave, Portsmouth - Public Beach
Small Beach on the Sakonnet River.  No lifeguards.  No restrooms.  Free.

Fort Adams State Park
Has a protected swimming area with life guards, a concession stand and restrooms. .

Bailey's Beach

Private members-only beach run by the Spouting Rock Beach Association.
