Newport Art Museum - MUSE
The Museum offers an innovative museum studies program called MUSE for high school students on Aquidneck Island that introduces young people to career options in this field. The Museum works closely with area schools and other cultural organizations on this program, which has received substantial support from the the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
If you're interested in learning more about MUSE, please contact Suzanne Hauerstein at (401)848-2787 or shauerstein@newportartmuseum.org.

Coleman Center for Creative Studies - Newport Art Museum
Want to pursue a career in Art?
One of the wonderful things about the Museum's art school, the Coleman Center for Creative Studies, is that it can step in as a resource for high school students who are interested in pursuing art as a career - or a career working with museums. Art programs in our public schools have been slashed, so young people with a serious interest in art have trouble pulling together the portfolios they need to get into college art programs. The Coleman Center can help with courses in photography, painting, drawing, ceramics and more. The Coleman Center also offers summer programs for teens and tweens.
